Valley Unity Republican Women start 2026 with the same enthusiasm and energy we’ve greeted each New Year for the past 4 years. We maintain optimism and hope for change in the politics of California. VURW members look forward to all Californians awakening to the facts of life and realities projected in an ever-expanding world. Some examples of these facts are men cannot become women (visa-versa) socialism is a failing political system, the United States is a democratic Republic, children need education not indoctrination, government fraud is stealing from the American people, arresting, and deporting of criminal illegal immigrants is the job of Federal and local law enforcement, and men in women’s sports destroys the rights of women to compete fairly.
Living in the United States of America gives every citizen the rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. The magnificence of the Trump Administration is that they support the rights of the people, and work against tremendous negative odds to protect these rights. VURW members stand for the rights of American people, and actively present happenings and events where we openly express our concerns, ideas, suggestions, and commendations. I invite Republicans and conservative minded people in and around this community to join with us. Our state cannot afford to pretend that we are self-righteous, and progressive minded because voters are misled by heartfelt non-productive promises from liberal politicians. “Face the Facts” Californians, we’ve been lied to for too many years. It’s time to support this fantastic country and encourage the flow of logical, successful ideas that benefits the State of California and the U.S.A.

CAGOP Convention, April 10-12, 2026 in San Diego: by Fern Somoza, VURW President
The weekend of April 10-12 was the CAGOP Convention in San Diego. It was an exciting informative event. Republicans from all over the State of California attended as Delegates, Proxies, Associate Delegates, and guests. Candidates gathered to present their political views to a positive, hopeful crowd of supporters. Every area in the convention center bustled with excitement as candidates crisscrossed each other walking through the foyers. Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco, both candidates for CA Governor passed each other walking through the aisles greeting supporters and delegates. Many of the delegates, each supporting a different candidate, happily shared our perspectives and views. During the splashdown of Artemis II everyone was gathered either on the hotel roof, bar, lounge, or breakout rooms yelling and cheering for the space craft’s safe return to Earth. We heard the sonic boom, and some saw a flash of light in the sky, as the craft landed in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of San Diego. Everything added to the enjoyment and excitement of the convention. On Saturday night, I was thrilled to meet and speak with the dinner’s guest speaker, Senator Ted Cruz. His speech was truly fantastic, and he was personable to everyone (including me). The endorsement votes on Sunday did not go as I would have wanted, but people were very animated, even obnoxious at times. That’s typical in a Republic! Overall, the CAGOP Convention was a real experience. I hope all members can attend a convention and/or conference provided by CAGOP and Golden State Republican Women. It’s a real learning curve!
